
Sheldon M. Feldman MD
Dr. Sheldon Feldman, professor of surgery, directs breast cancer services and is chief of the breast surgery and breast surgical oncology program at Montefiore Medical Center in NYC. He completed medical school and surgical residency at NYU in NYC and a vascular surgery fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
He is a recognized leader in the development of innovative, minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat breast cancer. He is the principal investigator for both single-site and multi-centered research protocols that aim to advance the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer. His areas of expertise include oncoplastic surgery, nipple-sparing mastectomy, intraoperative radiation, tumor ablation, lymphedema prevention, intraductal approach to breast cancer, and physician-patient communication. He has lectured and published extensively both nationally and internationally and is on the editorial board of The Breast Journal. He is past president of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
