Geoffrey Dardia is a native of Kennebunkport, ME, and graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1995. Geoffrey enlisted in the United States Navy under the Divefarer program to become a US Navy SEAL. After graduating navy basic training at Great Lakes, IL, in 1997, Geoffrey attended Parachute Rigger “A” School in Pensacola, FL, prior to attending Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training in Coronado, CA. A few weeks before graduating the grueling 26-week BUD/S training pipeline, Geoffrey was medically dropped from training for multiple musculoskeletal injuries and subsequently medically discharged from the US Navy in November of 1998.
In 1999, Geoffrey Dardia returned to Kennebunkport, ME, and began college at the University of Southern Maine under the Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation program as an 80% disabled veteran. Immediately after September 11, Geoffrey dropped out of college to reenter the military to become a Special Operations soldier. After almost two years of being denied medical waivers, Geoffrey Dardia was able to join the Army Reserves, where he served as an infantry reservist at the 98th Division, 2/304th Infantry Regiment in Saco, ME. After six short months in the reserves, Geoffrey qualified for a Special Forces contract in the army’s 18X program and soon after was conditionally released from the Army Reserves and enlisted in the regular army in May of 2003.
In May of 2003, Geoffrey attended Army Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training (AIT), and Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA. Upon graduating from Airborne School, Geoffrey was assigned to the United States John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (USAJFKSWCS), where he attended the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC) and graduated as a Special Forces weapons sergeant (18B). Upon graduation from SFQC in 2004, Geoffrey attended a six-month Pashto language course followed by Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape (SERE) Level C. Immediately following SERE graduation, Geoffrey was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), where he has been serving since March of 2005.
Geoffrey is currently serving as a Special Forces operations sergeant (18Z) at 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne). Prior to serving as an operations sergeant, Geoffrey Dardia served over 10 years on a Special Force ODA as a senior weapons sergeant (18B), then later as a Special Forces intelligence sergeant (18F), static line jumpmaster, and dive supervisor. Geoffrey Dardia also served two years as a Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC) instructor, 18 months as a Maritime Operations (MarOps) instructor, and 12 months as a recovery care coordinator (RCC) and warrior transition battalion liaison for the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Care Coalition Program. Tours of duty include four combat deployments to Afghanistan and three overseas deployments to Jordan, Chad, and Burkina Faso.
