Francesco Di Pierro, PhD
Biologist and pharmacologist with a PhD in immunology, Dr. Francesco Di Pierro was born in Turin, Italy, on February 20, 1967, and is married with three children.
Dr. Di Pierro is the author of more than 180 scientific papers, two books (concerning probiotics & microbiota and pharma-grade botanicals), several chapters in medical books, and about 400 popular science articles. He is a contract professor for various Italian universities, teaching microbiota analysis, nutraceuticals and botanicals, human nutrition, pharmacology, and pharmacognosy.
Member of the scientific editorial board of many international journals, he was awarded for his research both by the French and the Spanish societies of chemistry. Currently, he is the scientific and research director of Velleja Research and MyMicrobiota, editor-in-chief for Nutrafoods, and nutritional consultant at various medical clinics in Milan, Italy.
