Carolyn Matthews, MD

Dr. Matthews received her degree in English from Williams College. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University for medical school and residency, and then completed fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has been on the faculty at Baylor University Medical Center since 1991, where she has served as residency program director, medical staff president, and most recently as director of the Integrative and Functional Medicine Center. She is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and Integrative Medicine as well as certified in functional medicine. Her current avocation is raising grass fed grass finished Devon cattle on her fourth-generation family farm in Virginia.
